Clip-on vs stand alone thermal

Time to pull back on competition and go after coyotes. Can't decide on which thermal style. I'm convinced on 640 resolution and
leaning toward Pulsar. Would appreciate others' input. Budget under $6000.

Only downside to clip on is that currently there is no built in rangefinder…so if your scanner doesn’t have one that could be a limitation.

Make sure the clip on has focus capabilities(objective). And fits at least a couple of you scopes. Clip on theoretically would be your scanner, than mount to shoot. Haven't tried this, don't know if it actually works hunting(especially calling coyote).

Get a separate scanner and thermal scope, you'll find that using a clip on and trying to attach it fast as you can will be nothing but a pain when those coyote will be heading away after hearing you.
No need for a range finder at night IMO, my scope and scanner have rangefinders built in, never use them.
Call, see n shoot.

Like others have said you will be a lot happier if you spend less on the thermal and get a scanner also. I have used or had a lot of the common ones and ive found that the AGM Varmint is about the best bang for your buck. Has all of the features that most people need and is lighter in weight than several others. A scanner is just about a must.

I have a Burris BTS 50 scope and a Burris 35 scanner. It's a good combination for shooting critters out to 200. A friend has a INFIRAY Ricco RH 50 I think and a Pulsar scanner can't remember that model. But the Ricco is very nice. Might take a look at the Ricco. Scanner and scope is the way to go in my opinion.
