Cleaning rod length

What length cleaning rod do you need for a 30 inch barrel with a BAT 8 1/2 action ??

You need to add the length of your bore guide, and about 2" more to get it right.

Just make sure the handle of the cleaning rod does not interfere with the comb of the stock. I use a 44" rod for my 26" barrel rifles.

I agree with Lynn. I have all of my rods longer than the overall length of the rifle so that when I push it through the end of the barrel, the handle does NOT got on top of the stock.
I believe it keeps the rod from bending near the end of the through stroke.

I see a lot of fellas pushing the handles in until they touch the bore guide.
