Cleaning Rod for Long Barrel 223

He guys, I just finished my rifle with a 30" 223 barrel and am stumped about cleaning rods. I've been using a 44" Tipton but my stock has a pretty high comb and the handle doesn't fit without a good bend. I took this picture quickly just to show about how close it is. My thoughts are that I am going to have to find a 50" cleaning rod or one with an extremely thin handle. I have found some that long for 30 caliber but not for 22 caliber. If anyone has any advice I'd appreciate it.

Call Bore Tech. They can make you anything you need. I have a long barrel AR and they made one for me. They have a great bore guide setup and between that and a long barrel, I had to have something "special" and they were able to provide it for me.

Talk to Denny at Ivy Rods. He will make essentially any length rod you want.

+1; I've had a similar very positive experience.

The handle on my 42" polished ProShot is 0.6" in diameter. I have to raise it a hair to get by the recoil pad on my Bell & Carlson. Using a rod guide, it's not enough to bend it.

Ivy for me. Narrower handle, quality work. Any length you want.
I use it for a Savage 12 FTR with 30" barrel and an Anschutz 22 with a 28 1/2 " barrel
