Hello all;
I realized that I might not be the only one starting a search for good cleaning patches. Up to today I've been using the big box store all cotton and having to buy several sizes to find what works. Example; 223 patches work in my 6.5; 22 latches for the 223; and 7mm for .308/.357. I'm sure there is a better product than what I've been using.
I prefer the push through jags and have an assortment of dewey components to use along with bore guides, and chemicals will be butchs for some, hoppes for another, sweets as needed.
I'd rather this discussion be oriented to patches, this:
What material is in your opinion the best, what thickness? What shape w/dimensions? Finally why?
I like that butches/hoppes absorb quickly to make nice saturated patches for the bulk of my cleaning work. Sweets for when I see blue from above, and clp to finish the bore when dry.
Thank you,
-Mac
