Cleaning out my reloading room

Cleaning out my reloading room and my air rifle had this 6.5-20 EFR scope on it the gun is was in the closet and its covered in rust and whatever it was attacked the scope too.

I would give it a wipe with Brake Clean first off, remove the turrets and replace/add some petroleum jelly or silicon grease. So long as the optics are ok, I doubt that the aluminium has suffered too much.
 
Both of those are pretty harsh imho as far as cleaning a scope.

I have used with good success and no issues 90% rubbing alcohol, it cleans and flashes off pretty quick. It gets squeaky clean so I swipe of light oil doesn’t hurt a thing.

Looks like the mold that has infested a few pieces of leather I have.
