Cleaning brass

For large quantities I like to tumble before sizing so that the brass is clean before going into my dies and then after to remove the Imperial lube.
Anyone got an easy way to get the media out of the flash holes?
I'm guessing you are using corn cob media? That stuff compresses into the flash holes. Crushed walnut shells don't compress and there is very little - if any - flash hole cleaning to do. The walnut stuff doesn't get as bright of a polish job as compared to corn cob - but it does clean the cases just as well. I won't use corn cob media for that reason. A round tooth pick works pretty well and no scratching.

I almost always full length resize my brass, and since my chambers don't like the mess left with lube on the brass, I tumble with corn cob media. Used to wipe the brass off with a paper towel but that got pretty tedious. Flash holes are inspected for pieces of media before I clean the primer pockets.

How long do you leave your brass in the vibrator?
Sometimes an hour, sometimes 24 if I forget.
Everything is downstairs so I hear nothing.
End result regarding time? Maybe a bit cleaner after 24. Only interest is the groups and the time of cleaning means nothing to that.

I shoot suppressed mostly, some cartridge/rifle/powder combos are pretty dirty. So I have 3 pre sizing cleaning courses based on number of cases and how dirty the case is.
1. 50+ PIECES .Wet tumble, no media; hot water, lemishine, bit of DAWN.
2. 15-50 ultrasound for a couple 4 min cycles, lemishine,dawn,hot water.
3. Less than 15. 0000 steel wool, case spun with cordless, I have a long thin cylinder magnet to run into and over the case to grab lose steel wool.
Any brass that has been on the ground, washed. No dirt allowed in dies, since I clean dies.

How long do you leave your brass in the vibrator?
Depends on when I put it in the vibrator. I have no set hours I run it. If I throw it in at night I get it out the next day if I remember. I try to clean it after a match so it will be ready before I need to load again.
I do not remove primers before I clean so I don't need to worry about cleaning flash holes.
I use the RCBS brass prep center to clean primer pockets, necks and chamfer.
I used to de-prime before cleaning but got tired of cleaning flash holes with a paper clip.

When I was loading on a fully progressive press I would tumble the loaded rounds for a few minutes to get the lube off. I would do 150 or so at a time. EGADS! Ye say... Did thousands of rounds that way. Anyone else do the same?
