Cleaning Brass

Can you over polish/clean with dry walnut and a small ceramic triangle. Left mine in the tumbler last night by accident for about 10 hours. They shine so hard they hurt, but wanted to know if there is anything I should be looking for now. .223 Thanks.

Tell me about the "small ceramic triangle". I would not think the walnut hulls would hurt if you left it on forever.

Sounds like you just need to buy a pair of sunglasses.

3x3mm. Bought 5 lbs a while back but they kept hanging in the primer pockets. Added a handful to the walnut thinking they would handle the hard spots. 90% walnut most likely.

I have heard of people forgetting about it for over 24 hrs in plain walnut media with no problems.. I only use the walnut not the ceramic..

That ceramic media is good stuff. I have always used it when tumbling with hBN, and mixed with corncob media for cleaning brass.

I would like to look into this.. Is there a place to look at some? Is this for vib. tumblers or rotary?

I only wash mine in Lemi Shine & hot water then rinsed. I want brass that shoots good and is clean for my dies, not looking for a blinding shine. After a guy gets his necks just right I sure don't want to beat them up.

Eyeglass screwdriver or very thin Allen wrench will get the stuff stuck in the primer pockets out. I will get a timer since I have been reminded a few times that I left the tumbler on all night.
