cleaning after using 8208 XBR

I've been using a lot of the 8208 xbr powder in my 6 br barrels and for the most part like the powder, however I have noticed that the first patch out usually has a black, shiny substance on the patch that I've never experienced with any other powder. I clean every 20 round and my typical load is around 32.0 grains of xbr with a 68 gr bullet. Any idea what this is ? or has anyone else had the same results ? Is this even a problem ?

Not sure, haven't had a chance to use that powder yet, though I would like to try some sometime. But then I don't clean my rifles that often. I clean them about every 200 rounds.

Your not the first to notice but close ;D
Have you noticed groups stay tight as long as your pumping them downrange? Stop for a few minutes to let things cool and it'll take another 1-3rds to settle back down. Usually not a lot but enough to turn 1's into 2's and 3's
Another shooter on a different forum with much more knowledge than I noticed the same thing.
Claims its because theres just too much chemical additives in it. Just sayin.

I just tried that powder in my tight neck 308 HBR rifle and got excellent results. It cleaned up with Butches after 30 shots just as easy as Benchmark, or H-322. Didn't notice any thing unusual on the patch.

I hesitate to comment about 8208XBR powder in a 6 br because I haven't tried it. But my question is what solvent do you use to clean your barrel? I use Butches Bore Shine and after 20 rds I pretty much get clean patches (after 4 wet patches and 10 brush strokes) after shooting 29 grs of Vitha Vhori N133 pushing 68 gr Bart's bullets. I then run 4 patches of Prolix followed by two dry patches to finish off the barrel before shooting again. Just my 2 cents worth.
