8208 powder

I know there is a powder out called 8208 XBR, BUT I have seen a powder just called 8208. Does anyone know if this powder is good for 308 and maybe 7mm08. I know where I can get some if I wanted to try it but I dont know of any reloading info for this powder. thank you

It was a 5.56 powder and you should be able to use H322 data but since this is surplus powder start low.

This powder started out as IMR 8208. The different lots sold surplus did not all act the same. Some lots sold as Thunderbird 8208 was a favorite for the 6mm ppc.

+1 on the reply. You may be able to go to previous threads and find the discussion. The lot number many if not most of the participants in that thread thought had the most promise was AAC 122910. The powder has shown promise in benchrest calibers but not sure about your needs. Slightly more dirty than what I normally use, but if it is slightly more accurate, who cares. ;D
