clean machine

I use ultra klenz, bore guide, tipton carbon rod, with a jag and patch. Sometimes I use a nylon brush. I,m sure this has been talked about but, I wanted to see if I was in the ballpark with my method. Some of the solvents smell up the whole house.

Really? I always thought of Hoppe's #9 as cologne.

+1. I have my wife dab a little Butches bore shine behind her ears before we go out on Saturday nights. ;)

Or Pro-Shot
And here we go again.
I would recommend stainless steel over the coated rod, especially in the smaller caliber bores.
And I'm with Butch on the scrap the carbon rod.

I'll 2nd the motion on the Carbon fiber rod. 1st, I question the amount of abrasion these rods cause to the BBL. 2nd, when I rolled mine on the Kitchen counter it had a definite "bow" built in. (prior to using) Bought another Dewey 42" coated & it was straight as an arrow. Just my .02

And 3rd, if it snaps it can do some ugly damage to your hand or forearm....personally know someone who is still waiting for tendons to recover. It apparently is quite common if you read Midway's reviews.....esp. the smaller diameter rods.
Use a proper fitting bore guide, and keep the muzzle downward while cleaning.
