2The NRA has plenty of people to call and or mail me tons of requests for more money despite me already being a life Benefactor member. But I bet the number of people they have in competitive shooting dept is very small.
M99,Does anyone know if it is possible to find the number or percentage of shooters who have various classifications in LR, MR and / or F-Class competition? I'm just curious as what the breakdown is on average. What % Marksman through High Master in each category.

I have found the NRA Competition Department folks to be very helpful and responsive even in spite of the current restrictions. I have had reason to contact them by email a couple of times in the last 3 months or so, and each time got a very quick reply and the assistance I was asking for. It may not be a big part of the NRA organization, but the people in that department are pretty sharp and helpful. I was surprised. The NRA has plenty of people to call and or mail me tons of requests for more money despite me already being a life Benefactor member. M99,
Just got it - hot of the presses - here's the numbers for 2020 as of today, December 8th:
2020 F-Class Fullbore: 417 Unclassified; 20 Marksmen; 13 Sharpshooters; 60 Experts; 54 Masters; 63 High Masters = 627 Fullbore F-Class Shooters holding some level of NRA classification.
2020 F-Class Long Range: 2242 Unclassified; 398 Marksmen; 275 Sharpshooters; 479 Experts; 307 Masters; 268 High Masters = 3969 Long Range F-Class Shooters holding some level of NRA classification
2020 F-Class Mid-Range: 3691 Unclassified; 452 Marksmen; 371 Sharpshooters; 620 Experts; 562 Masters; 1260 High Masters = 6956 F-Class Mid-Range Shooters holding some level of NRA Classification.
The actual number of people (individuals) who shot in one or more F-Class tournaments in 2020 are as follows:
F-Class Fullbore = 86
F-Class Long Range = 1304
F-Class Mid-Range = 2092
Remember when viewing these numbers for 2020, many ranges and all NRA sanctioned competitions were shut down for almost 1/2 of the normal competitive shooting year due to COVID -19 restrictions; and remember that some states imposed travel restrtictions that severely impacted tournament participation.
Hope this answers your questions.
Here's hoping that the 2021 F-Class competitive shooting year will be better than 2020 has been.
John
PS: Please thank Shelley Kramer from NRA's Competitive Shooting Division for supplying the above data.
You are welcome - always glad to help fellow shooters - Yep, Competitions Division gets a lot of criticism for things that aren't their fault - Shelly has been around a long time, knows and likes the shooters and does whatever she can to make things work... she's "good people"...Thank you and of course Shelly. That is what I was asking about. I have found the NRA Competition committee to be very helpful and I was surprised to see you post that there are only two of them working at that. I'm amazed that they can get that work done with so many different shooting competition activities to keep track of. I appreciate you going to the trouble to get that information.
