Alkanet root.CStuck, your work is absolutely beautiful. Forgive me for this amateur question. When contemplating staining a walnut stock, is there a method of applying a solvent or similar to estimate what the grain and figure will look like un-stained with a clear finish? I really like the old reddish colors of bygone days, like a Pilkington red, but don’t want to lose or hide the natural beauty. Once applied, it seems there is no going back.
Thank you, Peter.
I can't recall exactly but 2-5/8" thick seems to ring a bell. How wide was that blank ?
Ah thats hard to say, but probably 5-6 months or so. I've got a few others waiting to be worked on. Also, I only craft stocks in my free time. I still work a full time career and get to play in the shop on the weekends and evenings when my honey do list is complete haha.Excellent work, how long is the waiting list ?

Oooo that looks great, I see you clear coated it. If you need/want me to lenghten that ejection port let me know. I'll do anything you need bud....I also owe you the next one at a big discount as that was earlier on in my craft, and I truely appreciate your support early on. I want to be damn sure you are 100% satisfied with your piece.
