Chipmunk Silhouette Pistol

Anybody ever try 1? Can they be accurized at all--new barrel, blueprinted, etc??

Hows about attaching a scope?

Was thinking of trying 1 on jackrabbits/pr. dogs here in CO.

I have an old time shooting buddy that uses a XP-100 w/4X scope and connects with crows at 100yds+ on a pretty regular basis. When he last put it on paper,it still printed less than MOA. Additionaly-he never had it blueprinted. I'd say "follow your dream!" and definitly put a scope on it. Steve:)Share your sport

Yes I beleive you can mount a scope on these pistols. At least I found a scope mount for these pistols online https://host462.ipowerweb.com/~roguerif/osCommerce/catalog/product_info.php?.

I had tinkered with the idea of getting one of these little single shot pistols, too. I thought they had more options at one time? Possibly a 17 HMR? Now Chipmunk has been bought out by Keystone arms I had dealt with them on a scope base for my boss's sons rifle, they were timely and helpful.

Would be interested if anyone has experience with these pistols, they look like a great value. I know the rifles don't shoot half bad.

I'm gonna look into this. If they still make the pistol it would be a great project i think. I'd bet with a good system on board a guy could get out there aways on crows, etc.

Looks like the pistol is gonna be reintroduced shortly, couple of months), by Keystone Sporting Arms, Inc. in 22 LR, 22 WMR, and 17 HMR. Just called them today,8007420455). Can't wait to get 1--hoorah!

I have to wonder how good these actions are? Id als prefer SS, like one based on the henry mini bolt. I would aslo think id prefer cock on opening, so would it be better to build one one a marlin or savage asthough they are larger actions?

Well fellers, I bought one of the stainless chipmunk pistols and it is really a treat to shoot. The only problem I've had so far is that sometimes it leaves a spent cartridge in the chamber. The extractor jumps off and you have to dig the hull out with a pocket knife. This isn't every time, but very frequently. The accuracy is superb at 50yds. I installed a sling stud on the forend of the stock for bipod mounting, and it performs flawlessly. I'm hoping that with more shooting, the chamber will loosen up a bit and I can leave the pocket knife in the holster.

I have one of the originals from back in the 80`s and IMHO you would be better off finding one of the Savage striker pistols to start with...
