Cheap New Scale

I believe that they are real Ohaus brand, mfg. in China. (I believe this because I called Ohaus.) Some time back I had occasion to examine a RCBS 1010 of similar manufacture. The workmanship was just fine, with the only difference being that the magnetic damping was not quite as quick. I touched up the knife edges just as I normally would and it worked just fine.

I ordered one of these a few weeks ago. It's a decent scale. I'm using it to verify my electronic scale. I have a Frankford Arsenal platinum series scale that I had never really verified. I have found the FA scale is reasonably accurate, but it rounds up weighed charges inconsistently. If, for example, I weigh a charge of 36.8 gr of h4350, it will be a little light on the Ohaus scale. I trickle in anywhere from 2 or 3 kernals to 10 to 12 kernals to balance the Ohaus. Once I get the charge correct on the Ohaus scale, I re-weigh it on the FA scale. It still reads the correct weight on the FA scale. In this instance, 36.8.
I'm still looking for a more accurate electronic scale that does not cost a fortune.

This might be, I didn’t check into it. When they had the grey 1010 scales, someone said that they did check Ohaus. And they didn’t have any info on them.

Yawl, know Amazon doesn't sell nock offs, right. Did any one read the reviews on this scale, on the amazon site. Just wondering. I hope that they are working for you.

Mr. Marshall is exactly correct. Bought a Redding scale on Amazon for 75.00 new about 2 years ago. Wasn’t worth a hoot and finally had to have it accurized. Saved no money at all! Please take care when buying from Amazon.

Mr Allen you have been tossed from the Reporters Union due to checking a source.
