Cheap, heavy 6mm bullet?

Someone else still shooting a 6-250!
Not modern but it works. Available brass, moderate powder charges, pleasant to shoot.
I made NRA High Master at 1000 yards years ago with irons and a 6-250. (Actually it was a total fluke. Two matches in a row with no wind, a new barrel, and then regular practice. Don’t ask me to do it again).
I used the 107 Sierra with 36.5grains of H4350 and Wolf/Tul primers in a 30” barreled Savage.
I tried Hornady A-Maxes 105’s with indifferent results. I also tried seconds that I believe were Hornady 105’s and A-Max that seemed to have unexplained off call shots - though it could have been me.
I have not had a chance to try the more modern bullets though. The Sierra 107 is no slouch, but you pay for quality.
I had not shot the Nosler bullets but the local wisdom back then was the 6mm Nosler 107’s were good and the 105’s were not up to par. I also tried the Tubb 115 bullet but it did not shoot for me. I assumed it was too heavy for the 6-250.

Good luck with the 6-250; not sexy but it works even with the old case design.
