Is there a certain program that must be installed in order to go to the chat room? When I click on it all I get is a blank gray page. Thanks, Bill

Do you mean make the Entry Link bigger,e.g. with a colored button), or re-size the entire Chat screen that pops up?

I could make a custom entry button, but I have no control over the Chat room window size.

In fact the addition of the Chat technology just sort of appeared, unannounced.

If anybody figures out the magic key to getting in the chat room I sure would like to know. I can get in with my laptop but cannot get in with my desk top. I have been to all the settings and made sure everything is checked but still cannot get in. Any ideas? Thanks, Bill

EDIT: Finally got it downloaded to my desk top. If you go to the Java Script websites listed, find one that does not contain the scan and correct profiles. The one I clicked on was just plain Java Script download. I hope this helps somebody. These computers are much more complicated to me than loading bullets. Bill

It took a few tries to log into the chat room. Once in, it showed 2 other members were in the chat room but I wasn't able to get a response from them. Maybe they actually weren't sitting at their computer and had simply forgotten to log out of chat. Will continue to try it! Could be a load of fun.

I have to say that the short time I spent experimenting with the chat room feature was a very pleasant experience. The instant gratification of having questions answered right after posting them is a real plus.
Nice chatting with you Chuck and Donovan.
I don't know how many are allowed in one chat room at a time but I can see that it could be easy to get behind in the conversation if there were several in a room at a time.

The chat room will prove to be an asset to the site I'm sure. I had a very good conversation with a couple of guys in there last night. And the best part about this option is you can talk in real time to guys all over the world. One of the gentlemen I talked to last night was from New Zealand and the other from Virgina. Very good info you left i've been on some chat room that were nice rooms and it only takes a couple people to ruin it. I like chat rooms you can talk to some very knowledgable people who can give you info you need without using PM'S. I hope to meet some of you guys there thanks

I dropped in on the board, have done some reading, dropped in on the chat and sadly, no one was around.

I've been gone about a year, I know, sorry. Health problems respect no man, I'm afraid, I haven't been able to shoot, fly or do much of anything, but I'm finally on top of things.

I also made a change to my sig for those of you that have in the past been listeners of the LAPD scanner. I just did a system upgrade, and instead of an mms link there's a regular old web link. Click it, select your speed and enjoy the show. I haven't yet edited out the extraneous stuff. The scanner is live online 7 days/week from about 8am-midnight Pacific time.

I'm going to do some more reading -Rod-
