Chassis stock for fclass

2vah3za.jpg

I like mine.
I got the piece for the front rest and made the rear bag piece.
It seems very stable
Haven't used this setup yet but I'm happy with it.
the element is well made all great machine work.
I'm a machinist and I do and know very detailed work.

After looking at eleisio again, his f class forend would be much better. If they made a similar option,I might go that way. Cost is a concern of course....

For a growing child, great idea!

I have several chassis systems which I interchange for F-Class and F/TR plus I shoot them from a bench as well. I do modify the forearm with a flat plate for shooting with a rest and I made my own buttstock for bag riding for the Element.

The most comfortable chassis though for me is the APO Saber-Forrst Mod-1. It is superb but significantly more expensive than the Element. Then there is the Cadex Defense Lite Competition which is nearly as comfortable, just missing by a tiny bit.

Aluminum stocks just dont damp like composite or wood. They just are not the right tool for the job if this is an F Class rifle IMO. Mcmillan will make you a stock with any lop and provide a spacer system so you can grow with it. They do an excellent job on inleting, to keep cost down just thrown a dab of epoxy around the recoil lug and go shoot. You will be much happier in the long with a stock thats designed for F-class imo.

I am considering a chassis style stock for my little girl to use from the bench and eventually for f class. They have the advantage of being adjustable as she grows (and i can use it! )
Has anyone used the element xlr?

Thanks!

I used to have the XLR stock for my old Savage action, but then I moved up to the Eliseo chassis, and that is a whole other world.

If you want to do it right the Eliseo chassis is the way to go for both you and your daughter. When it comes to versatility, IMO, nothing beats a tube gun. I used mine for F-Class for a couple of years and it was terrific. Then I got the LBLP bug and decided to go with a Panda action and a Shurley stock. I often wonder if I shouldn't just have bought another left handed Eliseo chassis. I love the look of my Shurley stock, but for versatility the Eliseo chassis would be money well spent. And they do retain their value very well.

Since you're dealing with a child I would advise going with a multi colored splotchy color. Those are terrific for hiding nicks and scratches.

currently used by one of four team members holding the US National Team Midrange (600 yds) F/TR record. actually this rifle had the highest scores of all the four team members including those who utilized high end laminate stocks.

XLR Element, .308.

don't dismiss the XLR. I have another one in use with a Bartlein 6BR barrel shooting in the .1's", .2's", and .3's" @ 100 yds.

both Savage Target Actions

I use an XLR Element for FT-R with the bag rider stock. Switched from HS PST025 and love it.

FYI, I was quoted 5 weeks for delivery and got it in 3.

I've got 2 Eliseo chassis that I use for FTR and I have been very happy with them. There are some things that are different about using a chassis, but I don't think they are short comings, just differences.
