changing sizing bushing

Maybe sort of a dumb question, but when going from a .002 to a .001 sizing bushing, does the velocity increase or decrease? Do I need to reduce powder? Thanks.

You might see a velocity change but I'd suggest it'd be minimal & not worth changing a load that works. More important is looking for what effect - again, if any - the change has on performance. You may see better accuracy if the change leads to more consistent charge ignition and/or bullet centering in the chamber and/or release upon firing.

What cartridge / shooting discipline (benchrest, F-Class, Palma, etc.)?

What caused you to feel a change was warranted in the first place?

sp, I am just toying around with a few things to see if I can squeeze a little more accuracy out of it (.243a1-fclass). just experimenting

Always a worthwhile endeavor. Let us know what you learn by it.

For my Palma loads & 600 yd 6HAGAR rounds, I aim for just enough neck tension to hold bullets at optimum seating depth, no more & certainly no less!
