Changing from 105g Amax to 108 Eld

I've been shooting 105g Amaxes in my 6BRXfor several years with good results. My supply of the the A maxes is running low. I am planning on switching to the 108g ELD`s. Has any one done this switch? Any input would be appreciated.

I'm sure many have done this and had success in their rifles. For you to find conclusions you need to try them in your rifle.

Might want to try the factory tipped 107 Sierras. I shoot them in several BRXs. Work fine at 100 and also 1000.

I have a few of the Sierras they do shoot well in mine. I use this gun mostly for shooting prairie dogs. The A maxes seemed to expand better than the sierras. I was hopeing the Elds would also. I`just have to test them out and see. Problay drop my starting load a grain or so and work the load up again. Thanks for the replys.

Curious as to how did those AMAXs shoot? I acquired 200 in a trade and thinking about testing them out to 600yds.

The 105 Amax shoots outstanding in my 6br. I shot them in a 1000 yard f class Match and finished 4th respectably. This rifle is actually for PRS shooting, but wanted to put it to the test at 1000. It pasted. I have enough Amax's to pretty much shoot the barrel out. Hornaday should bring them back.

I have had good results with the 105g Amaxes in my 6Brx Shilen 8 twist Savage target action. My loads are 34.1 g Varget. They are HBN coated. I have had the best groups 10 thou in the lands. I have shot some 5 shot groups at 300 under 1 inch and a few prairie dogs just over 1000 yes. Hope the 108 Elds preform as well.
I have shot the Elds in some 22 cal. Rifles and they seem to be less critical of seating depth.
The load mentioned is pretty high end velocities were in the 3025fps range. Use caution.
