Change New QL update powder file?

Guys,

I just got a Latest QL update powder file. It has powders that are not available in the US.

I know there is a way to select US powders and then load the US powder file into QL.

I don't remember just how to do it.

Can some member explain, in a step by step process to get US powders ONLY.

First a question: Where did you get an updated file for powders?

Here's the answer to your question: Chris Long has some instructions on how to use QuickLoad http://www.the-long-family.com/Tuning%20QL%20to%20achieve%20best%20results.pdf at the very end of the document a section is titled "Making a new Power Database File". Your answer is right there.

Yea, Power Pro 2000MR is one of my favorite powders and I would like to be able to use QL to know more about what's going on. Maybe one day.............

Ok guys,

I need some help!!!!!!!!! :-[

I have tried for a several days and numerous hours to make a NEW QL US powder file,
it's NOT going to happen on this end........... Have tried all instructions relayed so far, nothing!!!!!!!!!
This plastic box is smarter than I am?

If someone would be kind enough to list the steps, in order to do so,
It would be greatly appreciated,

I am running XP Pro, if that makes a difference.

Also since I have updated the info from the new QL CD,

I have lost ALL my wildcat case spec's and load data, this just jerks the slack outa my shorts,
after so carefully installing the required info etc.
So, I guess I got to start over again??

This did not happen the last time I updated.

Go to C:\Bin\Quickload\Data\Powders

Find the file qloadfw.pro

Right click on the file and open it with notepad. It will look like this:


Save it as something else.

Make sure you are editing the file with the new name.

Now delete the entire line that corresponds to the powder you don't want. Repeat until you are only left with the entries you want. Save.

Now open up Quickload and go to data add, change, load , save. Then propellant data. Then load a powder file. Pick the file name of the file you edited. Done.

Did the Winchester pistol powder WST or WSF make it into this revision?

Well guys,

It back to square one, again.

I have followed ALL the instructions to the "T", (from every source) posted.

All I get is a tex file, NOT a NOTE PAD file, and IT does NOT show up in the QL powder file,
I have tried it as, SAVE and SAVE AS with the name of USA Powders, and NOTHING works............
so far.

I have done this powder file update on the desk top PC w/ XP Pro and it works,
but will NOT work on this new Dell laptop w/XP Pro PC.

Any suggestions?
