chamfering/deburring

so, what's the opinions regarding the need to re chamfer/deburr brass that was done once when new, but is being reloaded without trimming? should you re chamfer each time?

The only time I would chamfer again is when I would have to trim the case to length. I see no need or reason to chamfer each time at all. As far as deburring....I assume the primer flash hole...why would you? The burr was made on the manufacturing of the brass....once you deburr it's gone forever.

I use a 3 way cutter .
Ever third fireing I anneal and cut to lingth and de burr my primer pockets were uniformed after the the first fireing . That should never change . If it does your over pressings the cases .
You cant make Percision reloads if the cases aren't the same . Larry

I trim to one length every time normally. But if the brass is still well in spec. I just look at the mouths while inspecting the brass since what I mainly reload is for a autoloader. For a bolt action thats not dinging or throwing the brass I think I would just look at them. If they are still good, they are still good.

If its for high accuracy or long distance of course the inspecting gets more serious. As said above you can hit them very lightly just to be sure seating goes well...

I lightly champfer/debur every time even if I'm not trimming. Cleans up any minor imperfections from shooting/tumbling. I use a Lyman case prep center which makes it go pretty quickly.

I see I should have been more specific in my response.
I am referring to single shot bolt action rifles.
I clean my brass in a vibrating tumbler with corn media.
Sorry.

Speaking of trimming, I use the sinclair tool to measure my actual chamber length. So know instead of trimming to the current shortest, my plan is to wait and not trim until at least one case gets to within .015 of my measured chamber length. This procedure is for only my bolt guns. I do load for max accuracy for all these rifles. Opiions?

All my reloads are run through my trimmer. Most of the time no trimming is actually done. When the trimmer cuts a case then I chamfer the inside and deburr the outside. I keep the cases within 0.003" of the chamber length.
A quick note here: I never adjust my trimmer. It is adjusted for the shortest case I reload. When trimming longer brass I have a bushing that is machined to limit the travel of the cutter so I get the same length every time. It speeds the process up when changing cases while keeping the case lengths uniform.

Very interesting. Do you have a photo of your trimming setup?

After initial preps, and completed fire forming, I trim and rechamfer. Never a need to do this again, as I never FL size.
Process annealing seems needed every ~30 reload cycles, as my turned neck sizing is minimal as well.

I SS wet tumble, and the pins do peen the case mouth. So after SS tumbling, I always chamfer the inside of the case neck to keep from stratching the bullets when I seat them.
