Total elapsed time

What case trimming system provides the shortest total loading time when used with a Dillon press ?

The Giraud trimming system requires the cases to be full-length resized prior to trimming but deburrs/chamfers at the same time.

The Dillon trimming system full-length resizes as it trims but requires deburr/chamfering as additional steps.

The lathe-type trimmers like RCBS do not require resizing prior to trimming and with available add-ons deburr/chamfer as they trim.

Some suggest that sizing must be done prior to trimming as it is the sizing that causes the need for trimming, not the firing.

Thoughts ?

I would call that a truism. Trimming before the case goes into a sizing die seems sorta like playing russian roulette on 6 full chambers. You ARE going to lose.

But, you may want to trim and not full length resize, or FL resize and not trim, but the order seems proper and logical regardless. My own rule is that if I trim one,of a given batch) then I trim them all. They'll either cut or they won't but either way I want each case to go through the same process. I use a lathe-type Lyman, BTW. -Rod-
