Chambered my first barrel today!

Erik probably made the best decision of all by not mentioning his method. There is always some internet empowered dope (no shortage) who is more than willing to publicly tell him that he is doing it all wrong.
No chicken bones and rum, just common sense and attention to detail.

You're probably right. I have heard it said that the two most common things in the universe are nitrogen and opinionated idiots.

Thanks and I enjoy chatting with you as well. I would to mention questions and answers are always free. It's what you do with it that can cost you.

Very true! :)

Sorry to tell ya ,man I cannt believe no one else noticed , you chambered the WRONG end . Well not really but you know that good luck and remember to take your time and SAFETY FIRST

That was already mentioned. Did you go to the trouble to take it out of the steady rest to put in the headstock to confuse us? They're no secrets to it, but they're several ways of doing it. Hall of Famers, World Champions, and World records have been shot by many different chambering methods.
Erik, looks good.

Can I ask about the picture? I am wondering about the wire (copper) and to it's effects?

It allows the barrel to pivot when adjusting the outboard spider.

The copper allows the barrel to pivot without bending it when indicating the barrel. It is a tragedy to grip a barrel with just the jaws of a chuck.

That's how I chambered my first barrel so many years ago before I knew better. That barrel shot like it had eyes.

Now, BOTH Eric and Butch have let the REAL cat-out-of-the-bag! :o ;D Most folks just bend the barrel! :P RG
