Chamber flush system build log.

Started the cart. Will have to pause here until the pump arrives, which should be Wednesday. In the meantime I'll work on the catch pan and plumbing back to the tank for the drain.

One day I'll learn how to actually weld. And have a table to actually weld on instead of a concrete slab.

Looks like you have mitres on the corners..looking good.

Welding is a nessacary evil for me... I can't see myself commiting a bunch of time, money, and space for it... at least until I'm in a bigger shop where I can control dust/grit/air better.

Looking good.
Inside the main drain pan directly under the end of the barrel I use one of those double HF magnetic parts trays- sealed in a Ziploc, and fill it with a piece of plastic air filter material as a prefilter. Clean up is pulling the filter material (in the trash), open the ziploc, pull out the (clean) magnetic tray out of the Ziploc. Bag/chips in the trash.

Might not want to depend on magnets to hold the weight of that pan full of oil and the hose. I can see a tale of woe developing. Especially with jaws of a spinning chuck catching a tipping pan.

Can't disagree with that. I'm thinking through a clever way to clamp or strap it down.

Are there ”T” slots in the cross slide cover? I used those to anchor my drain pan

There aren't. It's one of the few things I really wish this lathe had. There are two bolt holes for the follower I could use somehow, but it'd be a trick to get them in/out with the pan on top.

Mine is wedged in front of my carriage and I trap it and lock it down but I'm using an inboard spider and probably 5" shorter than your chuck. I've got a stop bolt drilled and tapped in back of carriage that tailstock can bump into and not hit the DRO X-axis scale. Also makes a repeatable stop to bump into if you need to retract tailstock, then push it back in.

Maybe you could use those bolt holes to secure a T type nut, then attach to the pan, a rail with T-slot, etc?
