CFE 223 Powder

Anybody tried Hodgdon CFE 223 powder for a 22-250?? Does it do what they claim....cleaner barrel and increase in velocity. How's accuracy?? Right now I'm using 40.0 grs of Win 760 behind a 50 gr Ballistic Tip with groups in high.1's-low .2's

I would think that the CFE223 would be a good candidate, just as you. Another newer powder to look at is Alliant Power-pro 2000.

I have used CFE223 off and on for about a year. I find it to be close to H335 in speed and accuracy.
It has not ended up as one of my "go to" powders.

I would be very interested in reading others experiences and load data with this poweder. Same for IMR8028x.

I shoot it in my 6x223 and 70gr sierras and 65 v-max.
I like it and plan to load it with several more different bullets to see if it'll work with them.

CFE since it came out ive been using, its a good powder and meters well. I use it at reduced range service rifle matchs, not much past 200yds so i never really worked up to a max load in mine, 25gr. and a 69 MK is a nice shooting load, very consistant and has worked ok at 600,if i can do my part, if you have it, or can get it you wont regret it.

I've shot 1/2" groups from my AR based 223 with it. 25.3gr CFE and 69 SMK's. Not a smoking fast load, but it does ok.

27.9 gr of CFE223 with a 52gr SMK from my 1:9 twist SPS-Tactical 20" bbl gives me nice little "ragged holes" at 100 yards. Average group size <.3 MOA.

All I do now is run a bore snake through the barrel 2-3 times after shooting and after 250-300 rounds use some Sweet's for a good cleaning. One wet patch and a 15 minute "soak". The first patch "May" show some blue but very little if any.

Look at other CFE223 threads and there are some pictures of cleaning patches showing similar results.
