Cerakote?

I have a brand new surgeon action that has a little surface rust on the exterior. It needs to be coated to protect it but I am not ready to barrel the action. Would you coat the whole action or tape off the face, lug embuttments, bolt face and lugs?

Why not oil it up to keep it from getting worse then have it coated when you have the barrel installed.

sure, mask off the areas you dont want coated blast and spray it

^ this. Soak it in oil and put it in a gun sock till you're ready for the build
