As I already fitted another barrel, checked the scope rings, the stock, bedding and changed scope, this was my last attempt before just let the rifle sit in the safe for some years.
Yes, we tried another shooter too ;D

I certainly don't know what your problem is, but can't see how your coating is doing it.
If you realy believe that I would remove the coating.

Personally, I'd skip melonite after my experiences with it. I'd go with IonBond. A great finish applied at MUCH lower temps...
