Cerakote..

Im looking to Cerakote my rifle im putting together but price is getting a little crazy. I plan on doing it myself. I want to just paint my barrel and action black then camo my stock and bipod. Oven cure cerakote for the barrel and action and maybe just airdry for the stock.

My problem is all of the colors needed for this and how much paint actually comes with each color, and price of each color. By the time im done painting im going to have a lot of paint left over.

Im just wondering if anyone has gone through this before and knows how to get smaller quantities of these paints.

Where do you get cerakote in the first place?

Brownells has almost all colors in stock and available.

Ive never done cerakote but i have duracoated several guns. There is no real way around the extra paint that i have found. I just find other things to paint with that color. Black should be an easy one to use up. Some other colors are harder.

maybe i will cerakote my keyboard. That would be cool.

But my XD40 may have a matching camo job soon too.

I went a little nuts the last time i bought paint. I had alot of black and gray left over. Now all the hinges, latches and most of then engine cover in my car are duracoated. There is always a use for it.

Look on snipers hide there is a guy that does it there that is good and cheap. He goes by "sgt ross" i think its 140 for a barreled action.
