Central Pa Springer Air Rifle Bench Match RESULTS

We got hit with flu cases and work but those who made it got to shoot our new target first. We reduced the size of the 24 animal plus added 1 bullseye target that score 11 points if you wipe out the tiny 10 ring. The match ended with 3 shooters tied for second place. They each shot a 10 on the bullseye target so we went with closest to center. That left Richard Hite with his newly acquired Walther LGR SSP with a second place finish first time out. Nice Shooting Rich, now you have a new gun and a new knee. No longer made Walthers had a good day, I snuck into first with my Walther LGU. The new target scores a possible 46 points with the two top scores at 41.0 and 38.0 , we have a ways to go. That new skinny ram leaves little vertical leeway. Pic of score &`equipment list, new target, and winning rifle. SSP stands for Single Stroke Pneumatic, no spring but legal as a spring gun in international competition. It compresses air into a chamber with a single stroke, not for sissies but very smooth, no recoil, and very accurate.

What, if any, is the velocity difference between your springer and the single
pump pneumatic. Also, I believe your now able to have a wider range of
scopes to choose from if I'm correct......

Velocity is similar. 550 to 625 depending on springs used. Most scope other that cheapies are fine with the 10 meter guns. I have a Diana 54 with the reputation of a scope killer. I have a Sightron Stac on it with close 2000 rounds, no scope problems. I put all my airguns scopes in Burris Signature Rings with inserts. The help keep the scope reticle centered which makes it stronger plus the inserts soak up vibration from the spring which is just as much of a problem as the thump. Lots of false ideas out there on Springer resulting from cheap poorly built guns and lack of working on shooting skills. These guns are harder to shoot than a rim fire or centerfire by a ton, but in good conditions at 25 to 50 yrs one hole possible if you have the skill....No reloading or crazy cleaning required. I just bought 6500 premium pellets delivered with tac included for 169.00. How many rounds out of your bench rifle to you get for 169.00? Oh, you never need to replace a barrel.
