CCI Small rifle primers problems.

CCI primers tend to be harder that others. I had misfires with their pistol primers but never their rifle primers. I now use Federal primers for everything when I can find them.

Don't waste money on the new version of the Lee Hand tool. It is a miserable pile of steaming dog poo.
:D i just LOOKED at the picture and figured that out:D

my arthritic thumb needed a rest from the old style (that works just fine), so i got the rcbs bench unit.

BR-4 cup is thicker than CCI small rifle, as i'm sure has been pointed out. I had break action .223 that would stick on opening from std primers cratering, changed to BR-4 and that all went away.

I've been using the Sinclaire hand priming tool and so far I haven't had a problem. The hand tool lets you feel the primer seat and feels like it gives you more control. Just wondering if anyone else is using the Sinclaire tool?

I second this. They had to really work hard to screw a priming tool up as bad as they did. I have one for sale BTW.....

I have CCI BR-4 primers and I am getting about 2 to 4 miss fires per 100 any idea on what my be causing this. I am seating them for now with my lee single stage press in to .308 Lapua Palma brass

Same problem. I solved it by measuring seating pin protrusion, seating depth ect. and some tinkering around with adjustments. I was crushing the primers to hard. With a press setup you have a lot of leverage. Does your press have an adjustment or do you just pull the handle until you think it fells correct?
