CCI and ar comp.

I was talking to a tech about some br4 primers the other day from CCI and he was raging on how good the results are on the loads useing ar comp powder.. Anyone else seeing extremely low SD like 3 and 4 with this powder.. He just couldn't say enough good things about it..

I use TAC on my 55 gr fmj target and shtf loads and have ok results.. I mean useing stock carry handle iron sights and no optic iam only reaching out so far.. Just wondering if you guys are having good luck with ar comp? Or if he was just selling powder since they are sister companies...

Rsadams,
You must have spoken to Justin or Duane... so yes and yes to your questions.
Yes, we are related companies, but yes we are seeing phenomenal performance with AR-Comp(R).
AR-Comp was the first of the new "TZ" line Bofors developed for us, and we have seen excellent results in 308Win and 223Rem/5.56mmx45 applications. Consistent accuracy and low sd's, along with flat temperature performance are measured. It has turned into one of our "go to" powders at the Federal factory when ballistic challenges are encountered. We recently received a nice note from the dad of a young man out west that won his state Palma championship using 42.6gr of AR-Comp behind a 155gr Sierra MatchKing. We also see great results in Mk 262 type applications in 5.56.
Give AR-Comp a try, and good luck!
Merry Christmas,
Paul

Well I will have to try a little harder to find some.. I live in a small town and have hit the local places with no luck.. lol thats not saying much here,,,even cabales last week..no luck.. Iam sure theres some in Austin tx somewere but going into that madhouse just is not even worth free money..

And let me say the man I talked to was super helpful and very nice. I could have spoke with him all day.. No BS I haven't had such a great C/S experience in many years especially since he called me back because they were busy, something every place says they will do, but it never happens.... He deserves a pat on the back..

Good Ole Phil and his two boys. Young Ryan is shooting lights out the last two years. Beat some of the best shooters I the USA that weekend.

I've been using AR-COMP for years for all my NRA/CMP service rifle ammo. Sierra 77gr MK/22.4gr AR-COMP/CCI450 primer/LC brass. Avg around ~2725 fps through a 20" 1-7.7 twist. I've had the best results using the SR magnum primers though.

ADDENDUM:
For the long-line, I shoot Berger 82gr/22.8gr AR-COMP/CCI450 primer/LC brass/2.50" OAL. This is a mildly-warm load that is single loaded. I used a Tubb carrier weight with this one to keep down the pressure signs.
