CCI 400 do fine in my 6.5G and 6.8SPC but I have a bolt 223 now and they seem to be the weak point. I know the 450 has a thicker cup, what else could I use?
By saying weak point, what are you referring to ?CCI 400 do fine in my 6.5G and 6.8SPC but I have a bolt 223 now and they seem to be the weak point. I know the 450 has a thicker cup, what else could I use?
Probably a large firing pin compared to an AR.By saying weak point, what are you referring to ?
Some cratering, a few even pierced, but the load isn't over pressure. This is happening at both accuracy nodes that I found and one charge is 3 grains less than the other.By saying weak point, what are you referring to ?
That's a great point, it's a Bergara and I have no idea of the pin diameter, but I'll measure.Probably a large firing pin compared to an AR.
My Bergara has started doing this. Last week pierce one and locked the bolt back. Had to disassemble the bolt to reset everything. Some cratering, a few even pierced, but the load isn't over pressure. You’re probably going to have to bush the firing pin hole in the bolt. Ask me how I know. It only takes a few blow outs to erode the bolt face and you’ve already crossed that line. Putting thick cup primers in doesn’t fix it once the hole and pin are eroded. I went to 0.062 firing pin diameter within the repair and you’ll be able to shoot CCI 400’s again with no issues after repair. My Bergara has started doing this. Same.I have used Rem #7 1/2 with about equal results to CCI
