I've seen a lot of botched FAL builds. There was a company located about an hour away I think in the Sun Valley area who was a premier builder of FAL rifles, supposedly. They also sold Imbel kits. What a bunch of Junk. Makes you not want to trust any of them.

mine cost me one 15lb. ham and one 55 gal. drum shell rotella 40 engine iol,,soldier,was very happy

it is true FALs will eat brass up,every case that mine ejects has a big V in the neck, don't matter how I set the gas.

Most likely that is the brass slapping the ejection port when it gets kicked out of the rifle. HK 91 were notorious for putting creases in brass until they fixed it with the rubber buffer on the back side of the port.
