Case mouth rolled ?

IMG_1490.JPG IMG_1490.JPG Found 400 forgotten 17 Remington cases. I bought these "once fired" 2-3 years ago upon inspection today I noticed the case mouth is rolled not sure what caused it. can it be fixed or are they trash checked serval the length varies from 1.785 -1.790

I'm not the sharpest tool in the box, but I'd try in lube a few up and size them.
If that doesn't work I'd probably just trim the flare off as they do have a rather long neck.
Curious as to what others will say.

I run a fired 308 case into a Redding 243 win fl type S bushing die, with NO bushing. The case mouth looked like your photo. No idea why.

The color of your case neck looks like the zinc has been depleated? To much heat when annealing?

If the brass fl sizes ok, holds good neck tension, i would load a sample batch and test fire.

You should be able to just run them through a full length die and start again... As mentioned above I would load a test batch and try them before going all out...

I get that on a few of my "wildcat" cases when forming down. I just simply run them through the die again with the ball removed. At that point if I still have a slight "bell" I run the cases through an expander mandrel. Sometimes there is still a very slight "bell" left...At that point I trim them back or just shoot them. I learned turning necks before squishing them down will eliminate the "bell".

The one time I've seen this was with brass that I had neglected to keep a tight rein on the OAL. Trimming cleared the issue up.
I know; dumb but I have so many different caliber rifles it just gets tough to keep up.
Terrible situation isn't it? ;)

Doesn't seem like a problem , just run them in a full length die will straighten the flare out . Don't know why anyone would flare a rifle case . When I was having a problem with bullet bulge on a 45ACP I wasn't seating the bullet perfectly square on the case mouth flare , there is a M die that corrects that problem . I remover the flared cases I had already flared and used the new M die to shape the case mouth , worked great . Sorry for making a long story long .
