I saw the article on using Ballistol for case lube. Sounds good, but still smells of too much work to wipe each case before and after sizing.
I've taken to throwing my cases on a plastic serving tray, spraying them with an alcohol soluble lube,Rooster Labs), sizing them, and then throwing them in a container filled with high percentage drug store alcohol.
After I've sized all cases, I give the container containing the alcohol soaked cases a swoosh and put the wet cases in a loading block. The alcohol evaporates off overnight and the cases are ready to be primed the next morning. Even with cases standing up, primer pocket down, the alcohol evaporates through the flash hole and the cases are dry as can be with no lube residue.
No wiping, no fuss, no tumbling. The alcohol itself is cheap and I reuse it several times before pitching. Can anyone think of a downside to this method?
