DO NOT use Hand sanitzer as case lube

I can’t even believe we’re discussing this!.....case lube has to be the cheapest aspect of reloading ammunition!.... I’m on the same can of imperial that I have been using for several years.

It's called stepping over a dollar to pickup a dime! Some folks are hardwired to try and save a few cents in a sport that is measured in many thousands of dollars.

Whats worse is that there are many home brews that cost little and are superior to many commercial products.
But like you said, I think quoted by B. Franklin-"penny wise Pound foolish" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Many likes here.

I haven’t ever used Royal lube but have sized thousands upon thousands with one shot with no issues and as I recall it was like 8 bucks a can it’s probably more now I don’t know but that 8 bucks would do several thousand cases to me that’s cheap but to each his own, I’m to lazy or have better things to do with my time than make up some alcohol concoction. When doing small amounts or my competition cases I only use imperial if doing large lots of plinking ammo they get one shot, just how I do it but if others want to use water n sand for lube to save a few cents I’m not gonna stop ya good luck

Midway (only place I looked) has the 5 oz spray can listed (but not available) for $11; the 10 oz can is $17.

Royal aerosol 5oz is $10.

The 2 oz tin of Imperial wax is $10, and lasts many multiples of times longer than a can of One Shot or Royal. At the expense of not being quite so efficient to use, though.

I'm not saying you should change; I'm just pointing out the relative costs.

It tickles me when reloaders will spend thousands on equipment but skimp on or use silly crap that isn't meant to be used as case lube

I used to be on a UK based RIB (Rigid Hull Inflatable Boat) forum; guys in England would spend over $100K on a nice cruising RIB, then bitch about having to spend $30 a piece on lifejackets. Or tow the boat a hundred miles out of the way to save a few cents per gallon on gas or diesel. Human nature, I guess.

10 dollar shoe polish can of Imperial wax has lasted me probably 10k plus rounds and there's more than half left in the can.
Been working on a can for years and haven't even found the bottom of it yet... I don't load rifle like some guys but I load and shoot whenever I want... I have never had a stuck case with it either...

Edit... To the OP get the set with the dry neck lube included and you save a few dollars...

99% Isopropyl Alcohol (Rubbing alcohol) and lanolin works great. Can’t remember the mix it’s on the YouTube though. I use it to reload bulk 5.56 for my AR-15s.

In fact it’s a DIY copy of the Dillion case lube. RCBS make a simular one as well.

However I must say +1 on the imperial sizing wax.

Canuck I think you may be mistaken, or at least different than my version of Dillon lube. Rubbing alcohol and yellow 77 wire pulling lube.

You can use olive oil with great results. takes the black off the necks to. the lee is the best sizing lube works good fore necking down case. it can be mixed with water and sprayed on and let dry. its commercial brass and copper drawing lube.

Just get yourself some Imperial Size wax. A large tin last forever and its easy to apply and remove. If you are inveterate on the subject go for it but imo you are wasting your time that can be better spent on other aspects of precision reloading and shooting.
