Can the 10/22 handle high velocity .22s~? If the answer is yes, what part of the action takes the beating~?

I would say the pin in the rear takes the beating, possibly enlarging the pin hole horizontally.

Yes and the pin takes the beating. Aftermarket replacement of the part is recommended by the aficionados for any hard used 10-22.

The fix for this is the synthetic pins offered by Power Custom, Volq and others. I only shoot Mini-Mag HP's or WW Power Point HP's, and both my rifles run like champs with the HV stuff on a regular basis with no pin battering. It also appears to soften the recoil impulse without the hard 'slam'.

You can Polish ( With, 400 then, 600 Grit on, a Dowel ) the Radius on, the back end of the "Bolt" and BUY Rubber "Buffer Tubes" that, go OVER the REAR Steel, Pin, that will, STOP, the pin from, "beating out", the receiver, look on, E-Bay. ( The rubber TAKES, the "Beating" NOT the Pin )
Can't remember, the Guys Name that sell them, but you can buy a 6 Pack of them,.. CHEAP

I got mine around 1975 and I shot thousands of stingers and every other kind of bullet that I could find or steal off of the dash of dads pickup. If I had only known how fragile they were before I shot probably 15000 rounds of ammo! FYI, I upgraded it in the late 80's and it still looked in good shape. The Ruger 10/22, like Snake Pliskin's demise, has been misreported.
