Carrera Precision Calipers??

Hello Folks;

Did a search on the forum and couldn't find anything on Carrera Precision calipers and am wondering if anyone has any experience with them. I'm in the process of acquiring the required tools for reloading for 260 Remington, 300 WSM, and 375 Snipetac. I have a Carrera Precision digital caliper that I was given, it looks like it is of reasonable quality and am hoping it's worth using, but am willing to invest in a Mitutoyo if need be. I know I will likely get answers Like "if it's accurate and repeatable, it's fine", which it seems to be, but I'm trying to figure out if it's a brand that is on the radar with you folks, or if it's just a total no-namer.

Sears sells them. I'm not saying that's an indisputable validation but it does indicate that they are not complete crap.

To be honest, never heard of Carrera Calipers before. Doesn't mean they're no good. But the Mitutoyo brand is well established and well know for excellence. I guess in this instance, you get what you pay for and it all depends on what you are willing to pay or settle for. Good luck and enjoy no matter which way you go.

I have Fowler and Starrett. Both are fine for my needs. My own requirements (aside from repeatable accuracy of course) is they have an "OFF" switch and an auto off feature. Early Fowlers had neither.....20 years ago.
