Carb Out

Been using foam wipe out after every match (Fclass) to clean. Sometimes that night often a day or 2 later. No complaints works well for me. Wanted to start a new habbit of at least half ass cleaning or soaking before leaving range. Thinking of running a couple patches of Carb out down the barrel before leaving range, then would patch out with couple dry patches once home them foam. Any thoughts?

I run a few patches of Boretech C4 through the barrel before I leave the range, and finish cleaning it when I get home. That's what works for me, and I know that others' mileage may vary.

There are many ways to skin a cat, but I personally do the opposite. I put Wipeout in bore while barrel is still hot and drive home - could be 1 hr or 10h. I patch it out eventually, then start with Carbout as my next step in my cleaning regimen. Has worked well over the past year and 3000 rounds for record...Carb-out works very well..Drew

I like using wipeout first (or other copper remover) and last with carb out in the middle. Carb out seems to want to leave residue so I use a solvent after ward to get it out

Be careful mixing cleaning agents . The compounds that can be created are acid . 3 good articles in " The BENCHREST Shooting Primer "

I use mercury combustion spray works a treat I have also seen blue on patches at times that tells me it gets into the copper aswell my barrels dont get much copper fouling so not sure how it would go with heavy copper fouling but it kills carbon for sure.

Cheers Trev.

If all else fails......take a 'whizz' down the bore....let sit a bit and wipe out! Worked for the ODG!!
