Cant decide on next cartridge

+1 on the 6.5x55 imp. I have a few friends who use one and are getting great results on paper at 1000yds. 2950-3080 fps with 140gn bullets.
If you are already set up for 284,(my favourite) but don't like the recoil, how about a muzzle brake?
