Canadian Nationals

Congratulations to all the shooters, and special congrats to Shiraz and Will for the wins.

Looking at the list of shooters makes me wish I could have been there. I've shot with Jonathan Laitre at Raton last year and he's one heck of a great shooter even if he has a funny accent. Felicitations jeune homme. J'espere de te revoir a Phoenix. Et toi aussi Marius, un tres bel effort.

Looking forward to 2017.

Do they still party in Hull?

Awesome job today Shiraz !! Go USA !

Thanks, Mike.

We just won the America Match today. Very close, only by 6 points. Rained basically whole day. Wet flags, no mirage, and our coaches did an outstanding job. I shot under Nancy and she is incredible. We had a great team and it was a pleasure to shoot alongside the F-T/R team members.

Congratulations to all the team members. A first class job by all including the Team Captain and my favorite coaches. Wish I had been there to see it. Ottawa is a great place to shoot even if it does get a bit damp.

I can't help but notice that all the Canadian shooters have their town and province beside their name. I think it's fun to see whence people come to shoot at the Nationals. I further noticed that the American shooters all have their state abbreviation and USA beside their names. It thought that was a little redundant especially when listing the USA team members. I would hope that in future competitions (and that goes for both sides of the border,) we could standardize on the format. The state and province abbreviations do not intersect; there is a reason why the initials for Nebraska changed from NB to NE in 1969.

I'm not clear which province is QB, but Darin probably knows.

What I do notice is that most shooters come from small towns in Canada or from suburbs. I suspect it's the same in the US, but there are exceptions such as Houston, Dallas and San Antonio. From the prior lists though, it's tough to tell.

Just picking a nit here. Maybe by the 2017 Worlds? And yes we need to work on it in the US also.

All I have to say is that this was without a doubt one of the best ran matches I have ever been to. They may have some state abbreviations incorrect but the DCRA office staff did a outstanding job on the scores and had them on the website the same day in most cases. In my short 8 years of shooting fclass in 4 countries around the world the score reporting this past week was better than I have seen anywhere.

That's fine; I'm sure the DCRA did a great job.

I'm just pointing out a long-standing inconsistency (and that's on both sides of the border) that I wish would be eliminated.

thanks Bayou for the kind word, much appreciated :)

i was clearly not well prepared to shoot in those conditions. I took note of my mistakes and will not happen again for sure as it cost me the match.

As for the "accent"....lol.... i guess i cant argue with that ;D looking forward to see you again in Phoenix.

Je devrais etre sur place pour le National Denys, au plaisir de t'y rencontrer a nouveau.

ps. QB is not a province but a simple mistake, Darin is from Quebec province as well.

+1. They ran a great match and were gracious hosts to all of us.

I agree and the Canadians were very hospitable! A big "Thank you" for making all of us from the USA feel welcome. It was a well run match that should be attended by more people. Great range! The gals (markers) in the pits were amongst the best I have come across universally.

It was a real pleasure having you southerners up here shooting with us,I liked seeing the different set ups and equipment that was being used and most of all sharing your story's and info with us.you will always be welcome and I hope to see more of you up here in ther future.

Hopefully ALL travelers have made it safely home and are getting dried out. Just wanted to add that it was great having everyone (South,West and East) make the trip to The Connaught Ranges for this years CFNC and America's Match.
Truly enjoyed meeting and getting to shoot with some new faces as well as reacquaint with some old friends.
The Canadian F Class Nationals continue to grow exponentially since being separated from the CFRC just a few years back. The staff and volunteers have always risen to the occasion and continue to impress with their performance.
Although Hottawa did not live up to it's usual August heat wave,it did provide for some truly
challenging conditions for all competitors.(Was unpacking a range bag today to find a puddle
of "humidity")
Congratulations to all the winners at the CFNC ,to all the shooters who braved the conditions and travel and to The America's Team in their Victory.
Another memorable time to add to book of F Class History.
Looking forward to seeing you all back next year and hope even more will make the trip.
If all goes well ,will see some of you later this year in Ben Avery.
Best Regards
Gord O
