Canadian barrels

Anyone have experience of Canadian made barrels? JC cut rifled? Others?

Thanks.
I've got 2 JC barrels haven't got any rounds through one yet and only a few threw the other. It shows promise though. There are several shooters at my local club and no complaints and shoot very well and seem to clean well.

JC is a good guy and I dropped off my action and picked up my barreled action in person and he showed me around the shop and explained the whole process.

This is great to hear, I'm in sask and will be sending him my reamer and guages here shortly.

I’ve used and know of plenty of shooters using both ibi and KS arms barrels. I personally own 3-4 ks barrels that all shoot incredible. I also own one of tbere actions and it’s fantastic. Mike and the boys at KS are stand up guys and produce a great product!! I’d highly recommend them. They can do pretty much anything you want and have a huge popularity in the ELR community and are the barrel of choice for team Canada f-class. Some of the best groups I’ve seen are from ks barrels.

Ibi is gaining huge popularity in the rimfire community in Canada. At every match i attend there is a significant amount of ibi barrels there. I actually have a build going to be finishing up in June with a rimfire ibi barrel and a ks arms barrel. Super excited about this one in comparison for twist rates

If your in Sask, why not work with gunsmith Dennis lair at go ballistic gunsmith and use what he recommends. I know he works with ibi and ks a lot. Fantastic smith!

My experience is limited but IBI 6br prefits shoot ok. 3 shots, I noticed I moved the bag a little on the low second shot, moved it back for the third. Then deliberately moved the bag back an inch and did my best to keep it together for two more. Just a snapshot with 107 mk and H-4895 but it’s hopeful. 4 week wait last year. 5 weeks now.

I will have in 1 month or so. Ordered a barrel from KS Arms for my new build. Will let you know.
Ill be interested to hear how you go. I have sent a contact email to enquire for a couple of 308 tubes. What are you building? Action?

I am building another 6BR. Didn't decide on the action so far. My contact with Mike was swift and I quickly decided to go for it. If the barrel shoots well, I have a couple of friends probably follow my steps

I have honestly never heard of Dennis, is he in Saskatoon?
Star city. Very good smith! Does a ton of f-class guns for team Canada fella’s and benchrest guns. His quality, price and turn around time is phenomenal!

The first barrel I ever got that he did was on trade (1 box of factory through it) and it shot the best I’ve ever seen from such a wide variety of loads. Then was at the range and one of the guys at my range who’s record speaks for itself told me about Dennis and that he highly recommends him. So I did a second barrel, then a full build and now he’s just completed another barrel for my prs rig, a 2 barrel coyote build, and a fix from another smith all in record time. He will be getting 2 more actions and barrels from me come June for a pair of rimfire builds

You won’t be disappointed!! Have you decided on an action yet. Might be worth a try to give There action a go too.

Yep run a jury barrel in 30 cal 1:10 twist cut barrel. 1.25 inches for the first 6 inches down to 0.94 finished at 32 inches . Shoots better than what I can cleanes up easy . Will be getting another couple soon enough.

I have decided to give KS a go for the new barrel. If their product is as good as their customer service, it will be a good choice. 2 emails making enquiries were answered immediately (given the time difference, that is) and they can make exactly what I want. I have always found that the two go hand in hand.

Awesome!! Let us know how they shoot! I’m sure they will be awesome!!

NZ F does this reduce the ridiculous regulations and export fees that buying USA burdens you with, or is it just as bad?
