Canada on Remembrance Day

Quote from the Daily Bulletin:

“Today, 104 years after the end of WWI, Americans mark the anniversary of the WWI Armistice as “Veterans Day”. In Canada it is known as Remembrance Day. On this solemn occasion we honor all those who have served in the military in times of war and peace.”

In Canada today is a solemn day indeed. They honor those who were killed in their wars as opposed to the USA where it is Veterans Day honoring all veterans alive as well as deceased.
Canada does not have a Memorial Day as the USA does which is for deceased veterans.
Kind of odd considering the insanely high percentage killed compared to Canadian population, especially in the meat grinder called WWI.
I have to mention at least 20,000 ( maybe 30,000) Canadians crossed the border to join the USA armed forces to fight in Vietnam. They do have a Vietnam Wall there called the “North Wall”.
Peter Lemon, from Canada was a Medal of Honor winner in Vietnam.
And to further add to a too long post in WWI, which starting date is 1914 ( for America it was 1917) 38,000+ Americans crossed the border north and joined the war well before 1917.
RIP: James Nicholson and Charlie Sawler. Friends from Nova Scotia killed in action Vietnam.

Edit: Jamie Nicholson was born in Prince Edward Island Canada but we went to school in Nova Scotia.

So much I could say about this , but won't . Borders become irrelevant when Evil has to be vanquished , and those on both sides of that Border stood up when needed .
My Twin Brother's name is on that Black Granite Wall in the District of Corruption .He was nominated for a MoH , but my anti-War parents refused to let it go forward . May all those brave Men and Women rest in Peace .
