Can you shoot with a muzzle brake in Short BR?

even with small calibers on light rifles breaks will let you see your own helicopters in the dog town.
take the break off and put on a thread cap or a tuner for on the line.

Good answer. IME- no chambering is too small for a brake in a dog town. I have brakes on two 223AI and a good friend has one on a 204 Ruger. Both are noticeably effective. OTOH-you won't make friends at a range. As has been said, illegal in IBS & NBRSA, but tolerated in UBR. I think in seven years of matches I've only seen 2-3. Get one for the dog towns but leave it off if you compete.

A few years ago only a minority of shooters at the range I frequent used brakes. Now many do, making double hearing protection wise. It's not a problem except the short barrels or magnum cartridges. Our range has frame mounted insulated 55 gallon barrels that ride on wheels for the obnoxious ones. The end of the gun barrel resides inside the sound deadening barrel which quiets the blast down substantially.

Don't you have to retune the load?
