Can someone verify this is what cobalt cerakote looks like?

Gutsy move, sending a Defiance to a new, untested shop.

I might've started with a worn Remington or Savage, maybe something with some freckling already where you had nothing to lose.

Looks like it turned out OK, but not sure I would've been brave enough to try that.

The shop isnt new, it was new to me using them. I talked to them before hand and made sure they had dealt with Defiance actions. They did a fine job as far as clearances go.

I know of Defiance Actions but have not owned one. Why would you be more worried over it than any other action? They should not be blasting any precision dimensional part of the rifle. Thanks!

I have a rig in Cobalt. It is very coarse as well. Yours looks light, but the camera does that sometimes. It should be a dark gray.

Very nice!! Customer should be very happy. :D:D

When I look at these I do not see gray I see a matte black. Since color is perceived and camera's and compression software all alter this to some point as well.If it is not in real life with nice natural full spectrum lighting it is hard to tell what color an item actually is as compared to the image you are looking at on film on paper or digitally rendered. To me it looks very similar to rat rood or hot rod black or the matte blue finish on modern Remington. Clearly it has more course or abrasives finish but the color looks like that to me. I a typical guy though with an 9 pack of crayons not the 64 pack or 128 pack that most of my girlfriends had! LOL So you will never hear me call an old GMC pickup "Hawaiian Orchid" it is burgundy to me! LOL
