can I use a chamfer tool to bevel primer crimp in 5.56 brass

I dumped my Dillon for the hornady. I guess guys claim you can "feel" the right amount of swage when you get used to it.... instead of adjusting the tool for different kinds of brass.

I chuck up the Hornady in a hand drill laying on my shooting tote and run the brass just as fast as the dillon, without ruining any of my primer pockets.

I couldn't get rid of the dillon fast enough.

Hi markm87, it sounds like the Dillon must be hard to adjust for different brass. With the Dillon, I can see an advantage in that it would be much quieter and no brass filings. Is there anything else that you don't like about the Dillon ?

The price. ;)

I've read guys posts where they say they don't have to adjust their Dillon.. they can do it by feel. But I never developed these "feelings" :o

I'd get so mad when I thought I had that thing dialed in, and I'd either mash a primer or the pocket was looser than Sandra Fluke.

Brass shavings don't bother me. I remove crimps on my shooting tote and pour the shavings into the recycle brass bucket. I can fly through brass if I put the cutter into my drill. Same rate as the Dillon for me.

runs around $100.95

I've swaged and reamed, I'll never ream again.
