R&B -

Howdy, again !

Thanx for your timely response.

Wasn't sure you were talkin' about the same wildcat. Your wildcat's name and
" short/ fat design remind me some... of the Smalley-McPherson " SMC2" cartridges, such as their " 6mm/55 SMC ". That wildcat is a tad longer than yours.

Hey ! I just saw in an accurateshooter search I made, that we talked about this very topic Feb 2019.

Everything you're doin' looks good !

Please keep us posted on your progress !

With regards,
357Mag
Yes, I remember. I actually talked to someone over the phone about the SMC2 he had just built. It was a very interesting and informative conversation.

I will keep you posted for sure.

Cheers 357Mag and thanks for all the useful information.

If you're trying to cover the whole back end of the rifle stock you're going to have to have something custom made. With all the new 3D printing options their might be something that can be made at a reasonable price.

I have 300 WM bull barrel I shoot out of a GRS Hybrid stock and an Eliseo chassis and it is not too bad. I just lean into it a bit with a firm shoulder and roll with the punch (LOL). It is not something I would want to shoot all day that's for sure. I have a 4" Tooley offset barrel block rifle stock I am going try try next. I might also have a 1.25" @ 30" straight barrel made just see how it would shoot. 300 I look to mass and bore line to help manage recoil.

thanks for that.. 3d printed sounds like it mite work---- iam just getting started so i will see hiw it goes with a brake--- also they have the recoil reduction device that attachees to stock-- that may b in my future

6MC² CARTRIDGE DATA

Case Length = 1.950"
Case Trim Length = 1.940"
Shoulder Angle = 36 degrees
Neck Length = .264"
Shoulder Length = .156"

The round was develop by gunsmith William Moyer (Carlisle, PA.) along with shooting enthusiast Bruce Condit.

I was going to comment if it was a Moyer round. Only other time I’ve seen that before was a 22mc2 I believe. Was at an auction.
Supposedly his apprentice is a smith down in dillsburg.

Yes, from my notes the 22 MC² was also available. I think I talked to someone here on the forum and they said Shilen even offered barrels chambered in the rounds. The 22 Variant shot well over 4,000 fps. using various twist rates and bullet weights. .

McCauslin Rifles is the shop in Dillsburg. He were extremely helpful !!!!
