Camp Perry 2021

Arrived at Perry about 10:00 this morning, commercial row is barren. Only about half the vendors are here, little inventory and what they do have is expensive. Will be shooting over the weekend waiting for the sniper match on Monday.

I live 45 min. from C.P. I went there a few days ago on the President's Match day. Only a couple of buildings were empty. Supplies were certainly not where they were years ago.

Here is a feature in the Daily Bulletin about the Garand, Springfield, Vintage and Modern Military Events that commence today and run through Sunday August 8, 2021:

Jeff,

You need to hook up with the TX Juniors, maybe help coach the Juniors at Perry next year. We have the talent in the making, need to solidify the 6 man team. The score is in the 2 man Junior Championship (CMP's Whistler Boy)

Our kids placed 3rd in the NTT and 2nd in NTIT. We can do better. Actually one of our best showing. It is a slugfest out there when kids from CA and WI are shooting in the 490s.

Things have changed quite a bit since we were in this game. The kids that came after you at AMU are shooting cleans or near cleans in the agg.

I am not sure I understand, but here goes Camp Perry is CMP now, and the Atterbury shoots are NRA?????? who gets to say "This is the national champion." ????

The board matches at CMP have not changed, that's the P100, NTI, NTT, NTIT, even when NRA shot NRA Championship at Perry. The NRA Championship have not changed either except for the venue. Typically Camp Perry for rifle schedule, CMP, followed by the NRA. Since the divorce, as you noted NRA Championship is at Atterbury.

The big difference is the Whistler Boy (the 2 person Junior match) though shot during the CMP Board matches week, but it has always been an NRA entity. Now, CMP have their own 2 person team match for the juniors, but can't call it Whistler Boy. If you look at the schedule at Atterbury you will see the Whistler Boy. It was in the past, have not checked their schedule as I wasn't going anyway.

I guess national champion would maybe be the nra 2400 but only because the cmp matches have different names. There never was a total aggregate of the cmp and nra matches.
If things keep going the way they have been, someone may win the nra matches just because they were only person to show up.

And the LR Champion.

Is this because the CMP wanted to divorce it self from Wayne controversial actions or did they boot the NRA for other reasons?
