Ok initial impressions. Carrying case seems cheaply made but sturdy and well compartmented. The units measure 11" h x 3" w x 4" d. They aren't real heavy and each has a 1/4" x 20 mounting hole on the bottom. Each has an indicator light for power, wlan, and lan. This package seems very sturdy and compact. After charging both the transmitter and receiver units, btw it comes with two chargers so you can charge both simultaneously, I set it up on my patio.
Did I mention it has a night vision camera?
This is at about 20 feet in pitch dark.
Next week I will be able to test at distances of 300, 500, 600 and 1,000 yds and will post pics. The app is pretty straight forward. Until later,
I wonder if a higher quality ip camera can be used. Does it connect to the supplied router via a "lan network cable"? Or is Caldwell using a proprietary cable?
I must have lost track of this thread. Fotohunt has done a good job answering the above questions.
I got mine today. It took about 30 minutes to figure out. It's actually really simple and actual set up is less than 5 minutes.
I can verify it works perfectly at 1,000 yards. I had clear line of sight. Picture is great, adjustability is easy. You can check video in real time during the process.
The app is simple and straight forward. Not as nice as Bullseye's appears to be, but you can easily record video or snap a picture. If you're using the APP on your phone it saves directly to phone.
Warranty is 1 year on manufacturer defects. I imagine if you shoot it it's on you.
Appears to be a LAN cable as others have mentioned. There's an upgrade for an external battery pack. Battery life is quoted at 6 hours. Don't know about voltage.
No zoom feature on the camera. You presumably can zoom in on your device to get a close up of the target.
Good value buy. I was informed today that the first 400 units are the ones that shipped so it is a very new product. Fotohunt and myself got the first batch.
