The range has changed a bit (I see a new range cover, very nice!), it looks a lot browner than I remember, the scores have most definitely changed since 2012 (much harder to bring home a Bear now), and the attendance has increased markedly. One thing that hasn't changed, Nik's name is still at the top of the F-TR list

Those of you who have sent me bolts will recognize my name as next to last in F-Open HM. Building rifles is easier than shooting them, at least for me.
Beautiful weather. As an engineer I notice the details of how things are put together. Somebody there at CRPA has a good mechanical talent. The pits/target holders are well made, well balanced, and smooth. the shooting area is perfectly shaded and flat. Somebody planted some nice trees 30 year ago for shade. the clubhouse/eating area is first class. Can't wait for next year.
This was my first time to Coalinga. Excellent facility and well run match. The only suggestion I would make is don't pair husband and wife teams, just for appearances.
I shot well but chased the wind twice when I should have waited it out and had a loose string the start of the second day. Gave my rifle a light cleaning after the first day which turned out to take too much copper off. Next time I'll use carbon cleaner only.
